Pocket Casts vs. STFUAI: Ad Skipping and Switching Players

Which kind of skipping do you need?
Pocket Casts’ documented Auto Skipping feature skips a chosen amount of time at the beginning or end of each episode of a particular podcast. It is useful when a show repeats the same-length introduction or closing section.
STFUAI Podcasts analyzes episode audio to find advertisements, host-read sponsorships, self-promotion, intros, outros, and credits. The player uses the resulting time ranges to skip the types you choose. An episode must finish analysis before that automatic skipping is available.

A fixed skip can be sufficient for a predictable opening. An advertisement that moves to a different point in the episode needs its own boundary. Content analysis can identify those changing positions, but detection can miss an ad or include wanted discussion.
Try your own shows before moving everything
Start with a podcast you know well. Listen around detected boundaries and check whether wanted discussion is preserved. Include a host-read sponsorship or an advertisement in the middle of an episode if that is the problem you want to solve.
For STFUAI, allow the episode to finish analysis before evaluating automatic skipping. Playing an episode while it is still waiting for analysis does not test the completed detection result. The automatic-skipping explanation covers this preparation step and its limits.

Move your subscriptions from Pocket Casts
Pocket Casts exports followed podcasts in an OPML file, a portable list of podcast feeds. Its current instructions use Profile > Settings > Import & Export OPML, followed by Send email or Save file. Save a copy you can access from the device where you will import it.
Use the OPML migration guide to import that file into STFUAI Podcasts. Review the feed selection and confirm that the shows you want appear in your library.
The transfer brings over subscriptions. Listening history, queue order, bookmarks, downloaded episodes, folders, and app settings are not carried over by this feed-list import. Record your place in unfinished episodes and keep the old app available while you check the result.
Already happy with Pocket Casts?
If your main annoyance is a repeated opening or ending, try its fixed Auto Skipping settings first. If you want the player to locate advertisements within the audio, evaluate STFUAI on the shows you actually listen to. That comparison is more useful than choosing from a feature list alone.
