STFUAI vs. Pocket Casts for Android
Pocket Casts is an established multi-platform podcast player. STFUAI is Android-focused and adds automatic content-based detection and skipping.
Different priorities
Pocket Casts is an established podcast player with Android, iOS, and web experiences. STFUAI currently targets Android and differentiates itself by analyzing episodes for advertisements, sponsor reads, intros, self-promotion, and credits.
If broad platform support is the deciding factor, Pocket Casts has the advantage today. If content-based automatic skipping on Android is the deciding factor, that is the problem STFUAI is built to solve.
Ad and intro skipping
Conventional playback controls and per-podcast fixed skipping can help with predictable openings and endings. STFUAI instead returns detected ranges for the actual downloaded episode and can skip segments found inside the program.
STFUAI analysis must finish before automatic skipping works, and detection can make mistakes. Its player exposes the segments and controls so the listener can inspect or override the result.
Moving from Pocket Casts
- In Pocket Casts, open Profile > Settings > Import & Export OPML.
- Choose Send email or Save file, then save the
.opmlfile somewhere Android’s file picker can reach. - In STFUAI Podcasts, open Settings > Account > Import OPML.
- Select the file, review the feed checkboxes, and tap Import (N).
OPML transfers followed podcast feeds. It does not transfer Pocket Casts listening history, queue, bookmarks, downloaded episodes, folders, or app settings.
