Set Up STFUAI Podcasts on iPhone and Android
Start with your first podcast, choose which sections to skip, and check that an episode is ready before listening.
STFUAI Podcasts plays downloaded episodes and skips the sections you choose after analysis finds them. The main setup controls are shared between iPhone and Android. Sign-in options and the phone’s file picker differ.
For your first episode, keep the app open until downloading and analysis finish. Check the detected sections before relying on automatic skipping.
Install and sign in
- Open the download page on your phone.
- Install the app from the App Store or Google Play.
- Open the app.
- If you already have an account, enter your email and password, then tap Sign In. If you need an account, tap Sign up and follow the account-creation prompts.
Email sign-in is available on both platforms. iPhone also offers Sign in with Apple when available. Android offers Sign in with Google. Use the same account when moving between devices so your saved subscriptions can sync.
Find a podcast and choose an episode
- Tap Search in the bottom navigation.
- Enter the podcast’s name.
- Tap Search beside the text field.
- Open the matching podcast.
- Tap Subscribe. If the button already says Subscribed, the show is already in your library.
- Tap the + beside an episode to add it to the queue. A checkmark means the episode is already queued.
Your subscribed shows appear in Library. The Queue tab holds the episodes you plan to listen to.
If you are moving from another player, you can import an Outline Processor Markup Language (OPML) file containing your podcast subscriptions. Open Settings, then tap Import OPML under Account. Choose the saved file in your phone’s file picker. The OPML migration guide explains the preview and import steps, plus which listening data stays in the old app.
Choose what the player skips
- Open Settings.
- Scroll to Skippable Segments.
- Turn on Automatic Episode Analysis.
- Open Auto-Analysis Queue Depth, which appears after automatic analysis is enabled.
- Choose how many upcoming episodes at the top of your queue to prepare automatically. Now Playing is considered separately and does not use one of those positions.
- Turn on Skip Advertisements if you want detected ads skipped.
- Choose whether to enable Skip Self-Promotion, Skip Intros/Outros, and Skip Closing Credits.
Automatic analysis prepares the episode’s detected sections. The skip switches choose which types the player skips. Leave Skip Intros/Outros off if you want to hear those sections.
New analysis uses your account’s allowance. Check pricing and weekly limits for the current amounts.
Prepare and play your first episode
- Open Queue.
- Tap the episode’s play button. Playback waits for the episode to download.
- If the first-play Heads up! notice appears, read it and tap Got it! to continue playback.
- Tap the mini player above the bottom navigation to open the full player.
- Scroll to Skippable Segments.
- Expand the section if it is collapsed.
When analysis finishes, detected segment cards show their time ranges and descriptions. A completed analysis can also find no skippable sections. Automatic skipping needs the completed result. You can listen while analysis runs, or pause and wait for it to finish.
To jump to a detected section, tap its segment card. If playback is paused, tap the play button to hear it. If a result needs another check, use Re-analyze in the full player. Re-analysis uses another analysis credit.
Before going offline, finish downloading and analyzing the episodes you want to hear. Saved episodes retain their detected skip ranges for offline playback.
Change the rules for one podcast
- Open Library.
- Select the podcast.
- Tap the gear in the controls below Subscribed.
- Scroll to Skippable Segments.
- Turn on Override skip settings.
- Choose that podcast’s analysis and skip settings.
Turn Override skip settings off to use the global settings again.
If an episode does not skip
Check that analysis has finished and that the relevant skip type is enabled. If the podcast has its own overrides, check those settings too. When the analysis allowance runs out, previously analyzed episodes keep their results; new analysis waits for available allowance.
If playback or preparation fails, contact support with the podcast name, episode title, app version, and the message shown on screen. For a missed or incorrect skip, include the playback time.
